Zouave uniform.

When the Civil War started, some volunteers reported for duty in uniforms of their own design. Many copied the French Algerian Zouaves. Here, Grace Erhart wears the uniform of the 114th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry.

Barbara (a former math teacher) points out, "those who know their math get the best jobs".
